alchemy-of-ecstasy

No one wants to be miserable. However life choices and unexpected unfortunate events can knock us down emotionally. Cancer, death of a loved one, job loss, and accidents are easily blamed on outside forces. We forget or don’t understand the nature of life and the reality of being human.

What role do we have in our own misery? If we get trapped in excessive drinking or habitual reliance on drugs in an attempt to mask sadness, we create yet another type of misery. If we have unfulfilled desires, our minds can constantly ruminate on them in ongoing negative cycles. Emotions can often confuse this line of thinking, causing us misery that in reality doesn’t exist. Why would we want to be miserable when we can be joyful instead?

Sadhguru offers us insight into what causes misery and how not to get caught in its trap.
