When you are young, the world seems to be a sea of endless opportunities. Continue schooling, travel, start a job, marry: these are just a few choices. But most youth think only about what they have been exposed to in their social and educational environment.

If young people look at the adults around them, they might notice that most adults are not beaming with happiness. These adults got stuck in their life choices, whether it was a job they no longer like but stay with for the money, a relationship that binds them in various ways, or any other number of situations that have not provided a life of joy. Many adults even claim that retirement will be their source of freedom and joy, and work tirelessly (but not too joyfully) towards that goal. But what are the other life-path choices, those not considered by most people, and are those choices easier to adopt when young and less entangled?

Sadhguru advises youth to think about what humanity needs most today, to take a break and see what is needed most, not what is today’s fancy.
