There’s a big buzz around meditation, and for good reason. It’s hard to deny that meditation can have remarkable benefits. Endorsed by celebrities, sports persons, and even political parties, it has crossed various cultural and social boundaries, becoming more mainstream. However meditation is not just the latest fad, it has received scientific research and backing from our most trusted institutions about its benefits. Meditation is gradually finding it’s way into schools, hospitals, corporations and more.

So what are the benefits of meditation? In just a few weeks of practice, many report sleeping better, increase in energy, improved work performance, mental clarity, focus, improved relationships, decrease in stress, less reactivity and an overall greater sense of wellbeing. In short, it just works. Meditation benefits every aspect of our lives. Perhaps the hardest part of bringing meditation into our lives is not knowing how to fit it in. Our modern life is over-scheduled and hectic. We often plan out months in advance and have set routines and structures. There are so many commitments and for some, taking time to meditate may feel luxurious or unproductive. After all, you are just sitting there when you could be doing something. This could not be further from the truth.

Meditation, in fact, organizes your mind so that doing becomes more effective. This is perhaps the greatest benefit of meditation. Sadhguru says: Once your mind gets organized, the way you think is the way you feel — so your emotion will also get organized. Once your thought and emotion are organized, your energies will get organized in the same direction. Once your thought, emotion and energies are organized, your very body will also get organized. Once all these four are organized in one direction, your ability to create and manifest what you want is phenomenal.
