Maybe you have heard the old American folk tale about Johnny Appleseed. He was considered a folk hero who, as an American pioneer apple farmer in the 1800s, planted hundreds of apple trees in the hopes that other people would not go hungry. This legend was partially based on fact. John Chapman and his eleven-year-old half brother traveled west trying to keep ahead of settlers, planting apple seeds as he traveled.

John Chapman was a man determined to help future generations. He did not necessarily reap the benefit of those trees but continued to plant them, hoping that they would help others. His choice was to plant apple trees to provide food for others, but all trees are an important part of mother nature and essential to human life. They provide us with oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil, and support other life forms that reside within their area.

Sadhguru initiated the planting of trees and was able to make people experientially understand the importance of this effort. Click below to hear how Sadhguru was able to accomplish this phenomenal task.
