A group of people boarded a plane but one potential passenger got an emergency call from his wife and returned home. The plane never arrived at its destination; it crashed en route. Was that destiny? Two friends stopped at a convenience store; one bought a lottery ticket that was a big winner. Was that destiny? Similarly, are any of the events that occur in our lives predestined?

How often have you heard someone say “I was so lucky to be there at that moment” or “If I only had done this or that, it would have been so much better for me” or “If I had not been there, I would never have met the person who changed my life”? The pendulum swings both ways, as some people think their lives are mapped out for them since birth while others believe that they have total free will. How then should we live our lives and make our choices?

Sadhguru tells us about the real meaning of predestination and why we like to think it is important.
