Raj Raghunathan, of the University of Texas, compiled a research project based on the realization that although he had an MBA and had achieved considerable success, he wasn’t all that happy. He also noticed that many of his peers were also not happy.  However, like so many other people, he was looking to find happiness through external events and outside stimuli.  He also believed, like so many others, that education was a key to success and happiness.  His formula was: the more educated he became, the happier he would also become.

Whether it is success, money, education, gourmet food or that special car or house, most often we believe what we gather will make us happy.  But like a sugary chocolate bar, it makes us feel a very temporary satisfaction, up one moment, and down the next.  Then the cycle continues; we continue the search for the next thing to fill that gap.

But maybe Raj had the formula backwards. Click on the link below to hear what Sadhguru has to say.
