AYUSH - Isha Organic Health System
The most recent of Isha's Outreach projects, AYUAH aims at rejuvenating traditional health practices and improving the health status of the tribal population of Kolli Hills Block of the Eastern Ghats,
South India, through indigenous holistic health sciences. Which the Indian Government refers to as AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy). Isha's approach to rural health offers an indigenous, comprehensive, and effective mix of preventive and curative care. Based on a unique combination of yogic practices, physical fitness programs, naturopathy, traditional ayurveda and siddha systems, as well as essential allopathic treatments. This model is not an advocacy for better health; but rather a technology for better health. AYUSH Isha Organic Health System volunteers will be the new cadre of community level health functionaries who will bridge the gap between the above tribal community and the health care providers. The project is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH, Government of India.

Disaster Management
The alarming rise in man-made and natural disasters has brought the effects of industrial pollution and climate change to headlines everywhere. South India is no exception.
Isha Foundation, which already operated centers in coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, proved its capacity for rapid intervention by responding to the 2004 tsunami within hours; providing medical care, immunization and distribution of food and non-food items. Isha's rehabilitation work included reconstruction of homes specially designed to withstand cyclones and flooding, community psychosocial support through yoga, games and the planting of 5,000 tree saplings in memory of the victims. Moreover, Isha health care and volunteer teams were mobilized immediately to support communities which witnessed their livelihoods washed away by the torrential rains and floods in Cuddalore, Chidambaram, and Trichy Districts in 2005, and in the Nilgiris District in the mountain village of Naduhatti, in 2009.
